Situated 500 m above sea level, close to Sant’Agata sui due Golfi, Villa Ferrara boasts commanding views over the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius and the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida. Its location at the end of a narrow, 3-metre-wide country road means that you will enjoy complete tranquillity here, in a landscape dominated by eucalyptus and olive trees, and scented with the perfume of citrus groves.

While the villa for 12 occupies around 500 m², the garden extends over an enormous 3,000 m² encompassing terraces, olive and palm tree dotted lawns, and a delightful infinity pool (5 x 10 m) with superb sea views. A spacious terrace provides ample space for al fresco dining and attractive white wicker lounge-style furniture to relax in and enjoy the panoramic view. Archways lead through to pretty hideaway corners featuring a pizza oven, grill and barbecue.

Step inside into a home filled with dazzling ceramics, antique furniture and original features. On the ground floor, relax in the study or in the lounge, which has a sofa, armchairs, a fireplace and a TV. The dining room and kitchen are inter-connected and the kitchen leads directly out to the terrace. Stairs lead from the lounge to the first floor.

Outside

Days at Villa Hermes revolve around the infinity pool on the ground floor, surrounded by a stunning decked area with sun beds flanked by two other terraces, one accessed directly from the villa. Both main terraces on the main pool level are furnished with elegant lounge seating. To the side of one of the terraces is a fabulous outdoor kitchen with a retractable roof, which can be enclosed during cooler periods. Here, alongside dining tables, there are two azure blue tiled kitchen units featuring several sinks, a hob and magnificent pizza oven. Quite apart from being an idyllic location for relaxed informal dinners, it’s the ultimate scenic spot for a private chef prepared dinner or a pizza cooking class.

A similarly impressive terrace on the first floor is luxuriously furnished with sofas and armchairs clustered around a rug. Another huge terrace on the second floor, with a dining table and chairs, sweeps right around the villa.

In fact, the entire exterior of the villa comprises a series of terraces, all with striking sea views. In addition to the main terraces, there are several grassy sea-facing lawns, including one with café style tables and chairs.

Plus, for golf enthusiasts, there’s the chance to brush up on golfing skills on the private putting green – hardly something you’ll find at many villas in this part of the world!

The putting green is just one of the outdoor elements that makes this villa so completely unique. Inside

Villa Hermes’ interiors are equally inviting, providing an abundance of space for living, relaxing and cooking. Well-proportioned rooms are generously furnished in a contemporary style and thoughtfully designed to offer maximum comfort, while each bathroom is quite individual but consistently stylish.

There are two main living spaces. On the ground floor, the open plan living room is illuminated by a wall of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that lead out to the main terrace and pool. At one end of the room, the large lounge area is furnished with several sofas and armchairs. At the other end is a sleek kitchen island, including a 5-burner hob and, alongside the window, a slim glass dining table.

On the second floor, the second open plan living area comprises a professional style kitchen which is ideal for catering for large groups, with a double American style fridge. Beyond the kitchen, the huge room comprises two separate lounge seating spaces and a dining area, all elegantly furnished and filled with contemporary art works. The living room has double doors out to the terrace.

Second floor: Accessed via the internal lift from the first floor, or an external staircase. There are no bedrooms on this floor.

A second dependence to the rear of the villa is occupied by the villa staff that will serve you breakfast each morning and be in charge of the daily cleaning. They have a separate entrance and are very discreet.
